adapt.

Honestly, reading this article was quite interesting to me. I never heard the term adaptation until the first day of class when we were asked to make a list, and let me tell you mine was completely wrong. But after reading this article and attending a few classes you realize that adaptations are all around us. Recently, I just discovered my favorite adaptation when iv read the fault in our stars this summer and watched the film. Which I totally recommend. But when reading this article what stuck out the most to me were the lines "Art is deprived from other art. Stories are born of other stories" and the moment I read it it instantly sparked allot of thoughts. Being a spoken word poet I thought of ask the Times I found inspiration in someone else's work, or heard a story that made me want to tell mine, It really made me interested in understanding adaptations and the process because it has really produced some of my favorite books and movies. I thought this quote captured adaptations perfectly "storytelling is always the art of repeating stories." It really is something intriguing about that statement. The idea that art births other art is beautiful.

1. Are there levels of difficulty when it comes to different adaptations?

2. Does the original story get lost in the transition?

3. What makes something able to be adapted? What makes it not?
