Reaction to Throne of Blood

My initial reaction to Throne of Blood was a positive one, I actually really liked the film.  A long time ago I saw Seven Samari, another Kirwasawa film yet I remember very little of it.  I would go so far to say that I enjoyed this film more than the Patrick Stewart version.  Everything was carefully filmed and planed all meaning something and I loved it.  The only thing that I wonder about with this film is the translations.  I took two years of Japanese and it is a hard language to directly translate into English.  For example My name is Alexander in Japanese is Watashino namaewa Alexanderdesu.  The confusing thing however is that with the Japanese language there are particles after words, for example after Watashi is no which makes the word My however if there were a wa at the end (Watashiwa) the word would be I.  Also at the end of the sentence is desu which stands for is/am/it.  That is just one simple sentence therefor I wonder how much is lost in translation?

I like the direction that Kirwasawa took it, I liked how there was only one witch as opposed to three.  It gave the witch more power and a more omniscience feel as there was only one.  I also liked how Kirwasawa cut out Macduff and Malcolm and the directions he took the characters.  I felt with Shakespeare's Macbeth although good was a bit unrealistic, it's as if the characters were exaturating the characteristics they had, I also felt as if it dragged on for too long.  With Kirwasawas adaptation however it felt short to me.  The characters also felt a lot more realistic.  I like how Washizu is the powerful warrior yet when he comes home from battle he's pretty much a normal guy hesitant on hurting anyone and really controlled by others.  Also his wife doesn't go crazy until after the still born which is a more realistic approach.  All in all I really enjoyed the movie.  One thing I'm still wondering and maybe it's more obvious then I realize but why so much fog throughout the moive?
